Geilolia is a well-established company that specializes in renting privately owned cabins and apartments in Geilo. With 40 cabins in Vestlia near the ski resort and apartments in the town center, they have established themselves as a year-round destination. As a mediator of cabins, Geilolia has had to find efficient solutions to meet the market’s needs. Geilolia started with a test on 2 cabins to evaluate the temperature module in Invite, which resulted in continuous rollout to 27 cabins. The goal is to have all cabins connected with Invite.

Challenges:
Before the implementation of Invite and smart panel ovens, Geilolia faced significant challenges. Among these was the need for manual adjustment of temperatures between each guest stay per cabin, which required considerable effort from the cleaning staff. Additionally, concerns about high electricity bills in a pandemic-affected market increased, further emphasizing the need for efficient solutions for energy saving and operational optimization.

Their goal was clear:

Reduce the workload for cleaning staff by automating the adjustment of cabin temperatures between guest stays.
Minimize electricity consumption in the cabins to lower operating costs.
Provide guests with better control over their stay by allowing individual temperature control in the cabins.
Increase guest satisfaction by ensuring a stable and comfortable temperature upon arrival.
Find a system with reliable operational reliability. Geilolia currently has over 50 ovens and plans to continuously expand to all cabins.

Solution:

Geilolia implemented a setup that included:

Integration between Invite and Visbook booking system.
Implementation of Mill’s smart panel heaters.

This solution provided the following possibilities:

Automatic temperature control based on booking information.
Guests were given full access to regulate the temperature during their stay, while Invite automatically took control upon departure.
Creation of time scheduling for different rooms inside each cabin, for example, a unique template for the living rooms and another for the bedrooms.
Remote control via Invite Control Center.

Result:

The implementation of smart ovens in 2023 resulted in significant savings and improvements:

The integration of Invite and smart ovens allowed remote control and automatic temperature adjustment based on booking information, further streamlining operations.
Cleaning staff experienced time savings as the need for manual temperature adjustments was automated.
The hibernate mode during the low season led to reduced power consumption and cost savings for Geilolia.
Guests’ experience of stable and comfortable temperatures upon arrival resulted in fewer complaints and increased guest satisfaction.
The owners of the privately owned cabins, using the smart ovens, expressed great satisfaction with the investment and did not want to revert to previous solutions. This underscores the overall satisfaction with the new technology and confirms its value for both Geilolia and the cabin owners.
Geilolia is very pleased with the system and plans to expand to all the cabins continuously.
