Fjordslottet Hotel has been a gathering place for guests on all of life’s occasions since 1975. General Manager Per Erik Myking has been part of the hotel’s history almost from the very beginning, and today he ensures that Fjordslottet offers accommodation, events and conferences for guests from around the world.
During the hotel’s busy main season, which runs from May to September, the rooms fill with everything from individual tourists to larger coach groups.

Challenges
Outside the main season, Fjordslottet shifts its focus to courses and conferences on weekdays and various events such as christenings and weddings at weekends.
This makes it necessary to have a solution that reduces heat and electricity consumption when the hotel is not in use, while at the same time ensuring a comfortable temperature for guests and upcoming events. Running around the premises to manually adjust the heat up and down in the various rooms is time-consuming, and it is easy to forget a heater once an event is over.
Goals
Fjordslottet has had a goal of limiting electricity consumption for heating while at the same time maintaining warm and comfortable premises during events outside the main season. The objective has also been to find a solution that allows them to control all heaters from a central system, and to be able to adjust the temperature and electricity consumption according to occupancy.
The solution
Fjordslottet was introduced to Invite’s smart solution through a local electrician. The system quickly stood out due to its ease of use and integration with the booking system.
The temperature control gives the hotel full oversight of the temperature in all rooms and adjusts it automatically before check-in and after check-out. Before guests arrive the hotel is heated up and maintains the temperature throughout their stay. When guests depart the hotel switches back to energy-saving mode.

Results
Since implementing Invite, Fjordslottet has experienced noticeable benefits. The control panel makes it easy to monitor temperature status, and staff save time that was previously spent on manual adjustments. While concrete cost savings are difficult to quantify, the time savings have made operations more efficient.
For guests, the solution means that rooms always maintain a comfortable temperature upon arrival, while they can also adjust the temperature according to their own preferences.
