Geilolia
Geilolia is a well-established operator in the rental of privately owned cabins and apartments in Geilo. With 40 cabins in Vestlia near the ski center and apartments in the town center, they have positioned themselves as a popular year-round destination. As a manager of other people’s properties, efficient operational solutions have been essential.
When Geilolia started using Invite, they began on a small scale — with a test on two cabins to see the effect in practice. The results came quickly, and the rollout continued rapidly to 24 cabins and one apartment.

Challenges
Geilolia adjusted the temperature between each guest stay. This required a significant effort from the cleaning staff and reinforced the need for efficient solutions for energy savings and optimization of operations.

Invite Solution
Geilolia implemented a setup that included integration between Invite and the Visbook booking system and the implementation of Mill’s smart panel heaters. This solution provided the following capabilities:
- Automatic temperature control based on booking information.
- Guests had full access to regulate the temperature during their stay, while Invite automatically took control upon departure.
- Creation of time schedules for different rooms within each cabin, for example a unique template for living rooms and another for bedrooms.
- Remote control via Invite’s control center.


Result
The implementation of smart heaters in 2023 resulted in significant savings and improvements:
- Cleaning staff experienced time savings as the need for manual temperature adjustments was automated.
- Standby mode during the low season led to reduced electricity consumption and cost savings for Geilolia.
- Guests’ experience of stable and comfortable temperatures upon arrival led to fewer complaints and increased guest satisfaction.
- The integration of Invite and smart heaters enabled remote control and automatic temperature management based on booking information, further streamlining operations.
- Geilolia is very satisfied with the system and will successively expand to more cabins.
