If you've been a tourist in Norway, you may recognize yourself in this story. It is winter holiday in Norway. You and your whole family have packed the car and are ready to experience the country from the road. So far it has been about beaches and holidays in the south of Europe, but this year it is time to explore Norway. The route you have chosen consists of both exciting destinations, attractions and unique accommodations.
Along the way you decide to stop by some additional attractions and there were a bit longer stops than planned in some places. It starts to be get late in the evening. The kids are tired and now it's about time to get to the accommodation. Because it is the winter holidays, you have booked two options.
You call the first place of accommodation. The reception has closed. They reply that they don't have anyone at the location right now, but if you make a detour of 10 km to a gas station, and if you are within a certain time, they can send someone to the gas station to meet you and hand over the key to the cabin. Which, by the way, no one has turned on the heat in, so it could be a cold surprise.
Then you take an assessment on alternatives two. There you received an SMS earlier in the day. It said that since you have booked in advance, you now received a PIN code to unlock the door which enabled you to drive directly to the cabin. It was also pre heated because the panel heaters are controlled automatically after bookings from the booking system. No detour, no trip to the petrol station and no extra logistics to receive the key.
