Efficiency in the mountains
Narvikfjellet is a unique facility offering activities both in summer and winter. Beautifully situated among majestic mountains and deep fjords with the town of Narvik at the foot of the mountain. We had a chat with Stine Holt, administration manager at Narvikfjellet, about automation in the high mountains and future plans for the location.

Integrated with existing systems
“I was given the task of finding the lock system for our accommodation offering that would be integrated with our existing systems.”
Narvikfjellet offers activities, dining and accommodation. New in February 2022 was accommodation available year-round.
“We try to develop activities and offerings in the shoulder seasons so that we can employ more people throughout the entire year, not just during peak season,” explains Stine.
Easy, and a good experience for the guest
When Stine was looking for a solution for the new year-round cabins, the choice fell on Invite.
“We chose Invite because the system had integration capabilities with our booking system, which meant that the sending of PIN codes could be automated. We want as few manual processes as possible and a simple experience for the guest. It also gave us reassurance that a major Norwegian operator uses the system and that there are good support functions.”
Stine goes on to explain that there is a noticeable reduction in manual processes related to booking and access management for overnight guests, tradespeople, cleaners and caretakers. She also mentions that it works well with their booking system, Visbook.
Continuos development
A brand new apartment hotel will be ready by next autumn, which Narvikfjellet will operate, explains Stine. This gives them an increased accommodation capacity of 60 units right in the middle of the ski resort. In addition to this, they are working to bring an alpine World Championship to Narvik in 2029. “We hope Narvikfjellet will be the tourism operator in Narvik that makes guests want to stay an extra night to experience everything we have to offer.”
