Turufjell, a mountain destination in Flå, Hallingdal, specialises in the rental of privately owned high-standard cabins. As a year-round destination, Turufjell attracts guests both during the winter season and in the summer. To offer a modern and hassle-free guest experience, Turufjell chose to implement Invite’s keyless access solution from the very beginning.
They are now also looking towards implementing temperature control and heating management, to ensure sustainable operations and to avoid using more electricity than necessary.

Challenges
Turufjell wanted to ensure a seamless experience for their guests while also simplifying the administration of the rental operation. When they started the rental business, there was a need to find a solution that could reduce manual processes and give guests greater flexibility. It was important that guests would not have to drive around to collect and return keys. With intense activity especially during high season, it was essential to be able to handle check-in efficiently.
Goals
The main goal was to give guests easy access to the cabins, reduce administrative workload and ensure a high level of comfort from check-in to check-out. The aim was to start with Invite’s access module and get it well established within the business, before expanding to temperature control. Key reasons for wanting temperature control are the ability to manage remotely and have full control over the temperature linked to bookings.
Solution
Following strong recommendations from the market and the industry, Invite was chosen as the system to digitalise the rental operation at Turufjell. Visbook was selected as the booking system and Danalock as the lock system. Invite has integrations with both of these, which created a smooth flow and an end product that communicated well with each other. Turufjell plans to use Invite for activity booking of the sauna and micro gym, as well as expanding to the temperature module.
Important components
- Automatic access via PIN code: This allows guests to check in whenever it suits them, without the need for a reception.
- The PIN codes are secure in that they are only active during the guest’s booking period and are deleted at the time of check-out.
Results
By using Invite from the very start of the rental operation, Turufjell has achieved efficient operations and overwhelmingly positive feedback from guests. Guests greatly appreciate the keyless check-in and the flexibility it provides.
